If it were probable to edit my previously reply I might change the introduction of the “Oval P” stamp to study “not located until 1910 or afterwards.” Hence the 1913 date is a wonderful in shape.

Ned Schwing said in his reference ebook over the Product 1890 & 1906 that Winchester started evidence marking them in 1908… I do not know if that is definitely exact, but will assume that it is. The “WP” evidence mark was utilized after the barrel and receiver were being mated, assembled and concluded. This is highly obvious over the firearms manufactured during the late teenagers by way of early 30s in the event the blue flaked (popped) off once the evidence was struck within the receiver body.
